Why I Built This App (The Real Story)
Hey everyone
I wanted to share the reason TapDone exists — and why it works the way it does.
It started at work. We’re a small team: different ages, different schedules, and very different phones (one colleague still uses an almost-outdated iPhone which I’m pretty sure Apple will stop offering updates for very soon!).
We kept trying to share tasks — who’s doing what, what’s finished, what’s still pending — and it was complete chaos.
- Someone writes the list on the whiteboard → it gets wiped by accident
- Someone takes a photo of the board → now we have 10 versions in WhatsApp
- Half the team works different days → so nobody ever sees the latest version
It was the same nightmare at home. My siblings and I live in different cities, and organising anything for our mum — birthdays, gifts, dinners, who’s buying what — turned into endless group chats, missed messages, and that one classic line:
“Wait… who was getting the cake again??”
And personally?
I hate signing up for things. Creating accounts, filling in forms, remembering passwords… it drives me mad. Even “Sign in with Apple” or “Google Login” ends up with marketing emails two weeks later. No thanks.
So one day I thought:
What if there was something dead simple that just… worked?
Something anyone could use — my 60-year-old colleague on iPhone, my brother 3 hours away – without:
